Most manufacturers say that beads will clog the dispenser. Another product that may cause trouble is exfoliating body wash with beads. An all copper or stainless steel wall-mounted dispenser may fit the aesthetic of your bathroom better, especially if you’re looking for a more chic look. Wall-mounted shower dispensers come in plastic, but also in other rust proof materials. The dispenser you choose will depend on how many types and how much product you’re looking to keep in it. (A typical bottle of shampoo or conditioner usually holds about 16 ounces of liquid.) Some dispensers only have a single chamber, while others include two, three, or four, so you can store more products for easy use. These sleek, rustproof dispensers only need a quick wipe down every so often, and aren’t just for shower use. Replace bulky shampoo and body wash containers with a shower dispenser and you’ll eliminate stinky mold or mildew growth underneath the plastic bottles. Replace bar soap with a dispenser and you’ll eliminate slimy residue. As with other recent loudspeakers from KEF that use the coaxial Uni-Q drive-unit, including the earlier LS50, there are no discontinuities in the mid-treble that might be due to destructive interference between the direct radiation from the tweeter and reflections of that radiation from the circumference of the woofer cone. The tweeter's output remains at full level almost to the 20kHz limit of this graph. ![]() The LS50 Meta's farfield output, averaged across a 30° horizontal window centered on the tweeter axis (fig.4, black trace above 300Hz), is superbly even from the lower midrange through the treblebetter, in fact than that of the original version. The partnering amplifier needs to be comfortable driving 4 ohms.įig.4 KEF LS50 Meta, anechoic response on HF axis at 50", averaged across 30° horizontal window and corrected for microphone response, with nearfield responses of woofer (blue) and port (red) and their complex sum (black), respectively plotted below 312Hz, 1kHz, 312Hz. The LS50 Meta has minimum EPDRs of 1.66 ohms between 135Hz and 140Hz and 1.7 ohms between 660Hz and 725Hz, both regions where music can have high energy. The new speaker's electrical phase angle (fig.1, dashed trace) is occasionally high, and I used the formula in a 1994 JAES paper to calculate the "equivalent peak dissipation resistance" (EPDR, footnote 1). The Meta remains closer to 4 ohms for longer in the midrange but has a considerably higher magnitude in the crossover region. Below 200Hz, it is almost identical to that of the 2012 LS50 (fig.2, solid trace), but at higher frequencies the impedance traces are quite different. The solid trace in fig.1 shows how the Meta's impedance magnitude varies with frequency. My estimate of the LS50 Meta's voltage sensitivity was 84.5dB(B)/2.83V/m, which is the same as that of the original LS50 and within experimental error of the specified 85dB. I used DRA Labs' MLSSA system and a calibrated DPA 4006 microphone to measure the KEF LS50's frequency response in the farfield, and an Earthworks QTC-40 for the nearfield and spatially averaged room responses. ![]() The mean amount of nicotine per dry tobacco weight ranged from 0.45% (Hawken Wintergreen) to 2.41% (Skoal Long Cut Wintergreen). Free nicotine content then was calculated by multiplying the percentage of free nicotine by the total nicotine content (percentage of free nicotine x nicotine content). The percentage of free (unprotonated) nicotine, which is dependent on the pH, was calculated according to the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation and by using a pKa value of 8.02 for nicotine (5). She had come with his traveling party to his final Passover in Jerusalem (Matt. She had money-i.e., disposable income that she could use to support Jesus and his mission.Īll four Gospels indicate that Mary was a key witness to the events of the climax of Jesus’ ministry. She is also grouped among the women who provided for Jesus and the Twelve “out of their means.” This suggests that Mary was a woman of means. This tells us that “seven demons had gone out” of Mary, so she was a former demoniac, and given the context, it was likely Jesus who cast the demons out of her, something that is explicitly stated in the longer ending of Mark (Mark 16:9). And the Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means (8:1-3). Soon afterward went on through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. Luke tells us two interesting things about Mary Magdalene. The identifying thing that stuck out in the minds of the first Christian communities was that she was a Galilean from Magdala, so that’s how they referred to her. Most likely, she had no father, husband, or sons-and she certainly didn’t have any who were well known. This suggests that she didn’t have any relatives who were well known in the early Christian community, so they defaulted back to a place name. Instead of specifying which Mary we’re talking about by referring to her relatives, she gets a place designation. And if a woman didn’t have a living father, husband, or son, she might be referred to by the name of her siblings-e.g., though the Gospels never do this, you could refer to “Mary the sister of Martha and Lazarus.”īut none of these things happens for Mary Magdalene. This would happen especially if the woman was a widow and no longer had a husband. A woman who was a mother might be referred to using the name of her son or sons-e.g., “Mary the mother of Jesus” (Acts 1:14), “Mary the mother of James and Joseph” (Matt.A married woman would be referred to using her husband’s name-e.g., “Joanna the wife of Chuza” (Luke 8:3).An unmarried woman would be referred to using her father’s name-e.g., “Anna the daughter of Phanuel” (Luke 2:36). ![]() Consequently, women were commonly referred to in different ways: However, when an Israelite woman got married, she left the house of her father and became a member of her husband’s household. Women were normally named based on their relatives. Men were often referred to using a patronym-that is, their father’s name-as in “Simon son of Jonah” (Matt. This place designation is not the most common way that women were referred to in first-century Palestinian Jewish culture. She is thus being referred to by a naming convention whereby you give the person’s name and place of origin-as in “Jesus of Nazareth” (Acts 10:38) or “Jesus the Nazarene” (Matt. The specific kind of person a Magdalene represents is someone from the fishing village of Magdala, which was a mostly Gentile town of about 40,000 people on the western side of the Sea of Galilee. These would be literally translated as “Mary the Magdalene”-so a Magdalene is a kind of person. In Matthew, Mark, and John, she is referred to as Maria hê Magdalênê or Mariam hê Magdalênê. It helps if you look at the Greek behind it. They didn’t have last names in first-century Jewish society, so what does this term mean? The first thing to note is her name: Mary Magdalene. ![]() The woman's husband and her 4-year-old son were able to safely escape, Brewer said.
